He was married to Nicy WOODALL on 13 Dec 1848 in Johnston County, North Carolina. Nicy WOODALL was born on 10 Jul 1819. She died on 3 Oct 1886 in Benson, Johnston County, North Carolina. She was buried in Ivey-Eason Family Cemetery, Benson, Johnston County, North Carolina. Vine Allen and Nicey had the following children: Daniel M., Bartilda Jane (28 Sep 1854-13 Nov 1886), Mary A. (b abt 1856-d aft 1880), Martha F., David Henry, Nicey Eleanor, Drewry Vaden, Fruzie Elizabeth, Delous James, Deroy G. (10 Jun 1874-18 Feb 1888), and Millie L. Ivey.
